Steve Stein, aka Steinski, the legendary hip hop producer behind the "Lesson" remixes, DJs this evening at Lava Lounge (1270 N. Milwaukee). Steinski is the dictionary definition of Old School, so you're gonna want to check this one out. It's a 21+ show, doors open at 9:00 PM, and admission is $7.

The Chicago Park District presents Movies in the Park, a summer-long screening of classic and contemporary films in Chicago parks. Tonight's screening: Rocky Balboa (PG) at McKinley Park (2210 W. 49th Street Underground and the Rogers Park Industrial Workers of the World kick off "Labor & Community: Reflecting & Organizing in Rogers Park" by screening Barbara Koppel's 1976 documentary "Harlan County, USA" at Mess Hall. The film is about a miner's strike in Kentucky. A potluck dinner (or dinnerluck in Mess Hall parlance) starts at 7:30 PM, the film starts at 8 PM. 6932 N. Glenwood Ave. Free.
