Holy crap, it's the end of September already!? Join the staff of Gapers Block at the Green Eye Lounge, 2403 W. Homer (at Western and the Blue Line), from 9pm till about midnight for drinks and commiseration over how fast this year has gone by. We should be at the tables near the front door, but just keep your eye out for GB stickers and you'll find us.
Come see one of the most talked about band's in the city for their sophomore CD release party with Welcome to Ashley. The show is $8 which includes a copy of the Bon Mot's new CD. The show is at the Hideout and starts at 10pm.
The Empty Bottle and The Wire present the fifth annual Adventures in Modern Music, a five-day festival of unusual music. The concert series continues tonight with performances by Qui, Excepter, Thomas Ankersmit and Leslie Keffer. The Chicago Park District presents Movies in the Park, a summer-long screening of classic and contemporary films in Chicago parks. Tonight's screening: Flushed Away (PG) at Kosciuszko Park (2732 N. From 6:30pm to 9:30pm Preservation Chicago hosts their autumn benefit at the former scene studio and warehouse of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Opera Lofts, 2545 S. Dearborn Street.
