Hey, street art fans. Tonight, artist/curator Artillery presents a collection of work by artists tiptoe and Saro at New'd, a new and used clothing store in Wicker Park. Enjoy "free beer and dope art" from 7 to 11 pm at the store, located at 1917 W. Division.
The Gene Siskel Film Center presents American Zombie, a fake documentary that looks at the problems that zombie Americans (or "revenants," as they prefer to be known) face in today's society. The film has its Chicago premiere tonight at 8:00 PM, and screens again on Monday the 21st at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $9, $7 for students, $5 for Film Center members and $4 for SAIC students. Music in the Loft presents the Jupiter Trio, Gold medal and first prize winner of the 5th Osaka International Chamber Music Competition. The Trio will perform the Beethoven Trio Op.11, Zhou Tian, and Dvorak’s f minor Trio. The concert will be repeated on Sunday, Jan. 20th at 3PM.
A reception with the artists will follow both concerts.

Come to save us all from bad jazz, Wynton Marsalis appears at the CSO and plays "Love Songs of Duke Ellington". The jazz pickings from out-of-towners are going to be kind of light until April or so. Can't figure out why. Show at 8.
Probably the hardest working Chicago artist on the game right now, Rhymefest is prepping an album, recently released a mixtape that's garnering acclaim, and is making an appearance at the Metro. Show at 8, $17 tickets here, and the folks on stage are on their grind.

"Punks, sneaks, mooks and miscreants" are among the more than 10,000 photos in the collection of Mark Michaelson, some of which will be on display at "Least Wanted: A Century of American Mug Shots" at Intuit Art Gallery, 756 N. Milwaukee Ave., with an opening reception today at 5 p.m. Michaelson will also give a talk on his collection Saturday, January 19, 11 a.m.
The 78th Annual Chicago Boat, RV & Outdoors Show will be held at McCormick place through Sunday, January 20. The show features over 600 boats, 200 RVs, marine accessories and outfitters and offers a variety of hands-on interactive activities, including a 170 ft indoor river allowing visitors to board a canoe, electric boat or kayak to get the feeling of traveling down a river. Tonight the Hideout hosts a benefit for the south Loop performance and recording space The Shape Shoppe. The Shoppe's been the venue and focal point for a lot of musical activity in recent years, but owner Griffin Rodriguez suspended activity in early 2007 in order to renovate the recording facilities. To help rasie money to ease the Shoppe's bill, a number of artist have pledged to play this evening's event--including Bronze, The Bird Names, Killer Whales, and Michael Columbia. 1354 W.
