Jon Mueller has been an active drummer and percussionist since the mid-80s. Whether utilizing bombastic minimalism, dense interplay, or electroacoustic practices, his approach focuses on a physical dialog between situation and material. He has performed or recorded with members of the groups Swans, Wilco, and Rhys Chatham’s Guitar Trio, as well as Asmus Tietchens, Jason Kahn, Tim Catlin, Bhob Rainey, Hal Rammel, and many others. He performs regularly with the groups Collections of Colonies of Bees and Mouths and has performed throughout the U.S., Japan, and Europe.

A sea of pink will fill the park for the annual fundraising run on Mother's Day, where more than 25,000 participants (walkers and runners) are expected to turn out. The race will kick off at 8 a.m. at Grant Park, 300 S. Columbus Drive. See the Y-Me website for registration info.
Dick O'Day and Hell in A Handbag Productions present a special Mother's Day screening of that all-time great mother movie Mommie Dearest today at 2:30 PM at the Music Box Theatre. Along with the film there will be prize raffles, a Joan Crawford look-alike contest, and a special appearance by The Joans. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased through Ticketweb. Special V.I.M. (Very Important Mothers) tickets are also available for $20, and those tickets include a 1:00 brunch at Violet, just one block north of the theatre.
