Taste of GiGi's Playhouse @ Logan Square Auditorium

Logan Square-area restaurants such as Lula Cafe, El Cid and Buona Terra will be on hand for Taste of GiGi's Playhouse, which benefits the suburban Downs Syndrome awareness center. Restaurants will be doling out samples (5-7:30pm), live band karaoke (@8pm), and a full bar supported by Vas Foremost, noFriction and Sam's Wines and Spirits, among others (5-10pm) await you at the Logan Square Auditorium (Logan and Kedzie). Tickets start at $75 per person.

Neo-Futurists present Fake Lake (opening night)

The Neo-Futurists kick off their 2008-09 season with the premiere of Fake Lake, a play inspired by the man-made Lake Powell in the middle of the Utah desert. The show will be performed at the Welles Park swimming pool (2333 W. Sunnyside). Showtimes are at 8:00, and tickets are $15, $10 for students/seniors, and pay-what-you-can on Thursday nights. Youth Outreach Services Benefit/Bags Tournament @ Witt's

Witt's Bar and Grille (2913 N. Lincoln) will be holding a charity Bags Tournament today (2-5pm) as a benefit for Youth Outreach Services. Your $30 ticket includes appetizers, drinks and entrance into the tournament.

Bernie Mac Memorial
