Snoopster Site Launch

Elaine Matsushita, former editor of the Tribune's House & Homes section, has done what any self-respecting style writer does these days: she's launching a blog. The Snoopster peeks into Chicagoan's homes to bring inspiration to those craving home interior photos after the demise of so many design rags. The site formally launches today, kicking off a series of design district scavenger hunts This one takes place in various locations throughout Andersonville tonight from 7 to 9pm, with a list of 11 participating design shops including Scout, Brimfield, Room Service and White Attic. Mr. Russia @ Subterranean

Mr. Russia, the Chicago rock band devoid of guitars, teams up with fellow locals Kid, You'll Move Mountains for their record release show at Subterranean (2011 W North Ave) tonight. Show starts at 7pm, 17+. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance here.

Amazing Baby @ Schubas

Amazing Baby, who opened for Phoenix here in June, and played through the rain at Lollapalooza, return to Chicago headlining their own show at Schubas. Their new album, Rewild, is a masterpiece mixing rock genres, taking cues from only the best. But believe me when I say that hearing "The Narwhal" live doesn't compare to the recorded version. From Conor McCarthy - Mechanics Contributor - I saw this show last weekend. It's definitely worth the $10. Benjamin Nelson is Second City trained here in Chicago. Very funny, consistently entertaining, and creative. Go check it out!

Alien (Director's Cut) @ Musicbox Theatre

'The Chicago Huddle' Taping @ ESPN Zone

Kick off your Bears season opening weekend by attending a taping of The Chicago Huddle, an ABC-7 football preview show, today, 4 p.m. at ESPN Zone, 43 E. Ohio.
