The "Now You're Cooking" class, part of the city's World Kitchen learning series, will get you cooking like the professionals. This is part of a four-class series that will continue on October 15 and 22. Class runs 6-8pm at the Gallery 37 Center for Arts at 66 East Randolph, admission is $30 ($100 for all four), and registration is required.

The critically incendiary, surreal-existentialist curiosity of the 2009 Rhinoceros Theater Festival returns as musical quintet The Elvisbride Band. They're playing with BoyGirlBoyGirl as part of Cabaret Oobleck, a showcase of the theater company's regulars, irregulars and friends. Hosted by BoyGirlBoyGirl's David Kodeski, the show starts at 7:30pm in the downstairs lounge of The Chopin Theater, 1543 W. Division. Bad Veins, whose single "Gold and Warm" has been popping up on indie radio stations, will bring some powerful pop rock hooks to the Empty Bottle tonight.
