Foreign Born, Free Energy @ Empty Bottle

Foreign Born, a band whose albums have drawn comparisons to 70s Laurel Canyon acts and Vampire Weekend (strangely enough), headlines the Empty Bottle to support their latest release Person to Person. Philadelphia glam/power-pop band Free Energy plays from their forthcoming James Murphy-produced album. And Cleveland's CLOVERS open. The show starts at 10PM, costs $10 and is for those 21+. The Interview Show @ Hideout

RedEye columnist Mark Bazer hosts another addition of The Interview Show at The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia, tonight from 6:30pm to 8pm. This month, the guest are alderman and Democratic candidate for Cook County board president Toni Preckwinkle, author Josh Karp, actors John Mahoney and Robert Belushi, and The Changes. Admission is $5. 21+

The DNA Trail @ Pierce Hall

The Silk Road Theatre Project, in association with the Goodman Theatre, presents The DNA Project, seven short plays written by as many playwrights that explore issues of identity, ethnicity and self. Conceived by Jamil Khoury, whose play: "WASP: White Arab Slovak Pole" is among those performed. Steve Scott directs. Tickets are $34, $24 in previews through Saturday, with group discounts available. Assemble Info on HIV/AIDS @ UIC School of Public Health

Join volunteers from UIC School of Public Health (1603 W. Taylor St.) to help assemble health promotion kits for distribution by Community Outreach Intervention Projects' (COIP) outreach workers. COIP, housed in the UIC School of Public Health, provides high risk populations with information and resources to prevent and help treat infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Advance sign-up is required (two-hour blocks are available throughout the day). Contact UIC for more information.

Stop & Go @ threewalls

Stop & Go is a stop motion film screening curated by San Francisco stop motion filmmaker, Sarah Klein. The films by numerous artists will use cut up cardboard, drawing, everyday objects and the human body to tell stories through one of the oldest forms of animation.

The doors open at 6, program begins at 7. There is a suggested donation of $10.

Harvest Moon Farms Open House @ LUSH West Town

Meet the people behind Harvest Moon, a 20-acre certified organic farm in southwest Wisconsin, and learn about their 2010 community supported agriculture (CSA) program. This year, all three LUSH locations will serve as Harvest Moon CSA delivery sites. The meet and greet takes place tonight at LUSH West Town, 1412 W. Chicago Ave., from 6:00-8:00 pm.

MEET THE OSCARS Chicago @ The Shops at Northbridge

Practice the acceptance speech you know you've been writing since you were a kid at MEET THE OSCARSĀ® Chicago, an exhibition brought by Kodak to The Shops at Northbridge, 520 N. Michigan Ave. You can hold and have your photo taken with a real Oscar statuette, learn more about Chicago's own R.S. Owens & Company, which makes the statuettes, and check out Oscars previously awarded to Bette Davis, DuPont Film Manufacturing and Eastman Kodak. This event is free. 10am to 7pm on Level 1 in front of Nordstrom.

The Disasterists present American Hipstery Text

Like making fun of hipsters? Like making fun of yuppies? We all do, right? Sketch comedy group The Disasterists will take a shot at these easy targets with their show, American Hipstery Text, which will have its last performance tonight at Bucktown's Gorilla Tango Theatre (1919 N.
