She & Him @ Downtown Sound in Millennium Park

The indie/country fusion sound of She & Him is as alluring as it is unique. Conjuring a comparable bittersweet, dreamy and romantic mood prevalent in their 2008 debut, the much sought-after duo of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward will promote their innovative new album, Volume Two, with a highly anticipated addition to the Downtown Sound series tonight. Chicago band Hollows will open. 6:30pm. Pritzker Pavilion. Free.

Solvent @ Edible Audible Picnic

Edible Audible Picnic kicks off at Pritzker Pavilion today at noon with Solvent. Solvent is Jason Amm, a Toronto based, robot-music composer, with an analog synthesizer fetish. He is a co-founder of Suction Records and one of the shining stars on the acclaimed Ghostly International label. Solvent has created his own unique version of electro-pop music and his latest full-length Subject to Shift is a sterling example of what happens when classic pop songwriting meets analogue circuitry.
