Grant Park Orchestra @ Millennium Park

Tonight's Grant Park Music Festival performance includes Beethoven's Mass in C major, Haydn's Te Deum, and Hindemith's Nobilissima Visione, inspired by Giotto's early-14th-century frescoes depicting the life of St. Francis. 6:30pm. Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Free.

Out of the Night Time Magic @ Roxaboxen Exhibitions

Out of the Night Time Magic, a new exhibition by artist Megan Diddie, premieres at Pilsen gallery Roxaboxen. Come down for the wine soaked opening reception tomorrow night and take in the quietly cheeky and poignant works from the California artist. Opening Reception June 18th 6-9pm, show runs through July 3rd. Gallery hours Saturdays 12-3pm. Roxaboxen, 2130 W. 21st St.

ANGELS @ Kunz, Vis, Gonzalez

Come out this evening to Kunz, Vis, Gonzalez , 2324 W Montana at 6:00pm to the opening reception of ANGELS. This exhibition features work by Christopher Cosnowski, Andrew Falkowski, Aukje Koks, Matthew Metzger, Lester Monzon and Craig Yuprese who reexamine established painting traditions and approaches to arrive at new conclusions about illusion, representation and ultimate abstraction.

Visions from the Burned Forest @ No Coast

Come out tonight at 5pm to the opening reception of Megha Gupta's new works on paper at No Coast, 1500 W. 17th St. Envisaged in her work are processes of obliteration, regeneration, alchemical operative chance and free association of memory. Exhibited until July 9, these poetic vehicles refer to the cycle of a forest through the medium of lithography, xerox-transfer and collage.

Peace Fest @ Lincoln Park

Going on until Sunday, the 20th come out to enjoy Peace Fest on the lakefront in Lincoln Park, roughly at 1700 N. Stockton, a block from Lincoln Park Zoo. This festival features bands, poets, speakers, dancing, art and love. The fun starts off at noon with a drum circle.

Phenomenal Handclap Band @ Lincoln Hall

The Phenomenal Handclap Band play Lincoln Hall Friday night at 9 pm along with Only Children, Kid Color, and Just Desserts. The show is $10 and 21+. Tickets may be purchased here. More in Transmission.
