Strawberries get their due at their very own Savor the Seasons Festival today at the Green City Market, Stockton and LaSalle Drives, from 9am-10am.
The fine folks who brought you the weekly fundraiser soup-eating slurp-a-thon Soup and Bread (along with NeighborSpace) have taken their interests to a new activity...bingo. Veggie Bingo runs every Wednesday at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia). Event begins at 6pm; cards are $1 each, or 6 for $5. Proceeds benefit Chicago community gardens. Event runs weekly through September 29.
This benefit for Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control is easy as pie--anyone who brings in this flyer all day gets 20% of their bill donated to FCACC. A reception with prizes will also be held from 6-9pm. Event is at Lucky Strike, 322 E. Illinois.
For tonight's Grant Park Music Festival performance, the Grant Park Orchestra is joined by the renowned band Pink Martini. 6:30pm. Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Free.
