Facets Fright School: Fulci's The Black Cat

Facets Cinematheque presents the latest in their current series of midnight movies, Facets Fright School. Tonight's film is Lucio Fulci's 1981 film The Black Cat, which is not quite the Edgar Allan Poe tale that the title suggests. The film will be introduced by Facets writer & teacher Michele Zaladonis. Winnebago Man @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center presents the first Chicago run of the 2009 documentary Winnebago Man, an investigation into the identity of the star of the Winnebago video out-takes that you may have seen on the YouTubes. Zombie-a-Go-Go @ Jackhammer

It's entertainment ahoy at the Zombie-A-Go-Go tonight at the Jackhammer (6406 N. Clark St.). Bands Baby Teeth, Cobalt and the Hired Guns, and Lettercamp will perform along with go-go troupe The Revelettes.

Also appearing is professional zombie clown Susan Hooper, and award-winning horror pinup Kelsey Zukowski, and acclaimed comic artist Dave Losso (The Great Sandwich Detective) will be providing frightening drawings and other demented goodies.

Tickets are $8 online and $10 at the door. The Jackhammer is a 21+ venue.

Joffrey Ballet "All Stars" @ Auditorium Theatre

The Joffrey Ballet opens their 2010-2011 Season with "All Stars," a performance featuring George Balanchine's Stravinsky Violin Concerto (1972), an homage to Igor Stravinsky; Balanchine's brief but explosive pas de deux Tarantella; Christopher Wheeldon's After the Rain (2005); and Jerome Robbins' charming and hilarious The Concert (1956). The performance takes place at 7:30pm at Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Congress Pkwy. Tickets are $25-145, and available for purchase at The Joffrey Ballet's official Box Office, located in the lobby of 10 E.
