Disappears @ Empty Bottle

From the ashes of numerous Chicago bands Disappears has risen. The foursome grinds out a blend of krautrock-influenced punk. Tonight's show marks the release of Guider, the followup to 2010's debut Lux. Watching this band find their groove on stage is mesmerizing; they are not to be missed live. Disappears headline the Empty Bottle. Locals Brain Idea and Tyler Jon Tyler open at 10pm. Admission's $10 and it's 21+. The Empty Bottle's located at 1035 N Western.

Love Local @ Inkling

Fall in love with Chicago and the handmade items its artists produce tonight at Inkling. Featuring Busy Beaver Button designers Chris Corbalis and Britton Walters, Laura Berger, Sarah Best, Alvin Lau, Jeremiah Reilly, Michelle Simon and more, the opening reception features a variety of arts in crafts in a range of mediums. 2917 1/2 N. Broadway St., 6pm-10pm. Free cookies and wine!

Chicago Looks @ Heaven Gallery

In the first exhibition of her photography, Brazilian-born and Chicago-based Isa Giallorenzo presents a selection of street style photographs from her fashionable blog, Chicago Looks. An eclectic array of pretty young things and dapper gentleman, Chicago Looks - a photo collection portraying street fashion explores the idea of a style aesthetic in a town often referred to as the second city when it comes to fashion. The exhibition opens tonight at 7pm at Heaven Gallery, located at 1550 North Milwaukee, 2nd floor.

Animal Magnetism @ Galleria Marchetti

This annual fundraiser for PAWS Chicago brings people and pets together for an evening of food, dance, entertainment, silent auction and raffle. Event at Galleria Marchetti, 825 West Erie, 7pm. Tickets start at $125 (and an additional $25 for Fido).

Naked Girls Reading @ Everleigh Social Club

Tonight is the Naked Girls Reading Series featuring Michelle L'Amour and a rotating cast of burlesque performers. The February theme is (naturally) Love Stinks. The evening will feature readings from Harper Perennial's new book Great Philosophers Who Failed at Love by Andrew Shaffer. Martha Stewart Whole Living magazine (who knew they did book reviews?) says "if you're in Dutch with your valentine, give him Andrew Shaffer's book, which recounts the tortured love lives of 37 thinkers. Compared to them, you'll look as saintly as St. Thomas himself -- who, Shaffer tells us, once chased a prostitute out of his room with a hot poker." Throw a live reading from naked girls into the deal and you'll be "out of Dutch" and in the running for girlfriend of the year. Everleigh Social Club, 939 W. Randolph. Tickets are $20 or two for $35; available here. 7pm.

The Interview Show @ Hideout

The Interview Show returns to The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., tonight from 6:30pm to 8pm. Host Mark Bazer's guests this month include artist and musician Archer Prewitt, teen fashion blogger Tavi Gevinson, author Bethany McLean, and City Provisions owner Cleetus Friedman. Gospel-jazz group Come Sunday performs. Admission is $5 at the door. 21+

GB Get-Together

The monthly GB Get-Together is a week late, but that just means we'll have two get-togethers in February! Join us for conversation ad drinks at Clark Street Ale House, 742 N. Clark St., from 8pm to 11pm tonight. We'll most likely have a couple tables in the front; look for the tell-tale GB stickers. 21+.
