Junk in the Trunk: A Naughty Nostalgia Show @ Stage 773

Chicago's favorite burlesque troupe, Vaudezilla, takes over Stage 773 (1225 W Belmont Ave.) for some retro style burlesque tonight Saturday, January 21st at 10:30 pm. They'll take the old adage "one man's trash is another man's treasure" literally as they shimmy and shake in this tribute to America's favorite pastime, garage sales. Junk in the Trunk will feature performances by Jeez Loueez, Trixie Sparx, Anita Lilmore, Mister Junior, and more. Check out Vaudezilla's website for the full line up and more details. Sharkula @ The Observatory

Midwest Baking Traditions @ Chicago History Museum

Chefs Jenny Lewis and Heidi Heidecker will be discussing how the Midwest made its mark on sweet treats (we invented the brownie!) and baking styles all over the world today at Chicago History Museum (North and Clark), today from 10am-noon. Admission $5, $3 for students and free for members of the Culinary Historians of Chicago, which sponsors the event. RSVP required.

Chili, home-brewed beer, and cocoa are center stage at tonight's first annual Stout and Chili Night at C.H.A.O.S. Brew Club, 1329 West Grand. Admission $20.

Complete Beatles @ Old Town School of Folk Music

As part of the celebration of the opening of their new school & performance space, The Old Town School of Folk Music presents a two-day performance of the complete Beatles catalog. Every song from the British releases from 1963 to 1970 will be performed by various Old Town School faculty and students, under the direction of guitar instructor Steve Levitt. The performances run from 3pm to 11pm on both nights in the new performance space at 4545 North Lincoln Avenue. Admission for the event is a suggested $10 donation. The Brew Ho-Ho Celebrates Home Brewers

The only event in Chicago that celebrates home brewing, The Brew Ho Ho will feature eight home brewers that will dole out one-of-a-kind brews, each paired with a variety of edible baked treats. Featured brewers include: Brutally Honest Brewing, Powell Brewhouse, Big Dicks Brewing, Soma Ale Works, Corazon, Rockwell Brewing, New Oberpfalz and Second Story Brewing. Chef Won Kim (Marketing Event Chef At Whole Foods Lincoln Park and Private Chef) will be pairing brews with delicious baked treats. Admission is $20 at the door and includes 10 beer samples, five treat tickets and a sample of Angel's Envy bourbon. RSVP to learn the location of the event. Event takes place on January 21st from 2pm to 7pm.

Winter Block Party for Chicago's Hip-Hop Arts

WBEZ's fourth annual Winter Block Party for Chicago's Hip-Hop Arts is at the Metro, 3730 N. Clark St., today from noon to 11pm in two sets. From noon to six it's free, with a graffiti gallery, a screening of The People Speak and the preliminaries of the night's three-on-three dance battle. Then from 8pm to 11pm is the Legends of the BodyRock, an all-city three-on-three battle of hip hop dance teams. Tickets for the late show are $15, or $12 for WBEZ members or $10 for students. 18+

Soup and Bread @ World Kitchen

Author Martha Bayne, who started the Soup and Bread series at the Hideout, leads a cooking class about--what else?--soup at Gallery 37, 66 E Randolph, at 11am today. Class is part of the World Kitchen series; admission $30. Advance registration required.
