DC Pierson lives in Los Angeles and is one-fifth of the sketch group DERRICK COMEDY and co-writer and co-star of their film "Mystery Team" (co-starring Donald Glover, from the NBC comedy series "Community). He is also the author of the novel "The Boy Who Couldn't Sleep And Never Had To." He's good at comedy but bad at girls. Join him for an hour of standup and stories about completely blowing it.

Give Me 5 @ The Playground

Each Wednesday at 10pm, Chicago's brightest up-and-coming performers have the opportunity to test the audience waters through stand-up, video, song, dance - you name it! In homage to the Saturday Night Live audition process, Give Me 5 has adopted a new requirement of a time-honored and special talent - the celebrity impression.

Tickets are $5 and available at the Playground Theater's box office (3209 N. Halsted).

Reading Under the Influence

Reading Under the Influence celebrates the book release of one of it's co-founding members Jesse Jordan. In keeping with their format, the theme of the monthly reading will be the title of Jordan's debut novel, "Gospel Hollow." Along with Jordan, readers will include Jamison Spencer, Joan Friedrich and RUI's most-requested-reader ever, Darwyn Jones.

Jimmy Greenfield celebrates the release of his book 100 Things Cubs Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die at the Third Rail Tavern, 1133 W. Madison St., tonight from 6pm to 9pm. Greenfield will read from the book and sign copies. More details and RSVP on Facebook. Free. 21+

Stony Island @ Siskel Center

Stony Island, a 1978 film set on the South Side, gets its first screening in ages at the Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 N. State St., at 8pm tonight. Director Andrew Davis and stars Tamar Hoffs, Gene Barge and Susanna Hoffs will be on hand for a Q&A afterward. Tickets are $11 at the door or via Ticketmaster.

Say Anything @ House of Blues

Hear songs from pop punk geniuses Say Anything's newest album, Anarchy, My Dear, when they headline House of Blues tonight. Frontman Max Bemis's wily performance and unapologetically snarky lyrics are definitely not to be missed. This is an all ages show and starts at 5:45pm.
