Fellowship Of The Boobs @ Gorilla Tango

Fellowship Of The Boobs is a Lord of the Rings, World of Warcraft, Dungeons & Dragons, Role Playing Game Burlesque. In this send-up of all things fantasy, we join Bruste Oakentits (a Dwarf), Isdra Silverbosom (an Elf), Pectus Ironchest (an Amazon Warrior) and a mysterious Fourth Companion as they journey over sea, under mountain, and right out of their semi-protective armor. See it all on Fridays at 9pm at Gorilla Tango Theater, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave. Tickets are $20. 18+

Geek Peeks @Gorilla Tango

Each month, "Geek Peeks" at Gorilla Tango Theater, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave., features a rotating selection of excerpts and "special features" from whatever shows happen to be playing at the time, as well as original sketches, character interviews, and behind-the-scenes bits n pieces created by the clever Geek Girl ensemble of naughty nerds. The show is at 7:30pm on Fridays. Tickets are $20. 18+

Studio Ghibli film festival @ Gene Siskel Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center hosts a two-month-long retrospective of the animated films of Studio Ghibli. Fifteen films will be screened through August, including two that have not been screened in North America before. Tonight's film is NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind, at 6pm. Midsommarfest

Andersonville (@ Foster and Clark) turns into a street festival epicenter this weekend. Food, entertainment, kids stuff, and outdoors fun is on the bill. Friday 5-10pm; Saturday and Sunday, 11am-10pm. Suggested donation $5.

Ribfest

Get rib-by with it at Ribfest, which runs tonight, Saturday and Sunday at the intersection of Irving Park, Damen, and Lincoln. Music, beer, more beer, and ribs await you. RibMania, a IFOCE-sponsored competition, starts tonight at 6pm on the north end of the event. Event runs 5-10pm tonight and noon-10pm tomorrow and Sunday.

The Metropia Experience

The Metropia Experience runs June 7-8 at the Atrium Events space, 4325 N. Ravenswood Ave. The festival features an eclectic mix of music and art, crossing many genres. Today's musical lineup includes the Kelsey Montanez Band, Nina Ferraro, Kirby Kaiser, Fathom Blue, Jana G., Shadow the Machine Angel, Jaded!, Ramsen, Cold Blue Kid, Tim Million, Veilside, Tiny Fireflies, Shuteye and The Night Survives. Doors open at 2pm. Single-day tickets are $65 ($27 for students), two-day passes are $110, and are available online or at the door. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Bully Police Squad and WLUW.

Blues Fest

The Chicago Blues Festival runs Jun 8-10 in Grant Park, showcasing dozens of bands on five stages. Today's lineup includes the Chicago Kingsnakes, Eddie Campbell, Big James & the Chicago Playboys and a centennial tribute to Lightnin' Hopkins; see the full schedule here. The music starts at 11am and runs till 9:30pm. Free.

Richard and Kate Russo @ Women and Children First

Tonight Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Russo (Empire Falls, Bridge of Sighs) presents Interventions, a collaboration with his artist daughter Kate Russo. Women and Children First, 5233 N. Clark St., 7pm.
