"Get Up and Go!" Sheffield and DePaul Tour @ Chicago Cultural Center

Chicago's "Get Up and Go!" neighborhood conversation and tour series continues today with Sheffield and DePaul. Hosted by Mark Bazer, host of The Hideout's acclaimed Interview Show, the tour begins with a discussion about Sheffield and DePaul's highlights and history followed by a visit to the borough. The tour is free and begins in the Chicago Cultural Center's 1st Floor Garland Room, 78 E. Washington St., at 12:15pm with the Q&A session lasting approximately 40 minutes. The tour will last approximately one hour and will depart from and return to the Chicago Cultural Center via public transportation. Reservations are recommended and can be booked online here.

Plural @ Apple Store

Chicago designers Jeremiah Chiu and Renata Siqueira Graw present their studio Plural tonight at the Apple Store (801 W North Ave). Plural will share their process and a guided tour of their experimental approach to design. The 1-hour event starts at 7pm. More details on their blog.

Wit Rabbit Reading Series: 10th Reading

Wit Rabbit is having their 10th reading tonight with readers Glenn Shaheen, Traci Brimhall, Kyle McCord, Sophie Grimes, and Larry O. Dean. Wit Rabbit showcases poetry and narrative from writers from UIC, SAIC, and Columbia College.

Chicago Way Reading Series

The Chicago Way reading series celebrates the release of crime author Sean Chercover's novel, "The Trinity Game." He will be joined by local crime novelist Markus Sakey. The night will consist of a short reading by Chercover followed by Chicago Way's trademark audience interactive discussion with both writers. It all goes down at Hidden Shamrock 2723 N. Halsted St. at 7pm.

Tuesday Funk @ Hopleaf

Tuesday Funk returns to the upstairs bar at Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St., tonight at 7:30pm. This month's featured readers are Stacy Bierlein, Jesse Jordan, Holly McDowell and Scott Smith. Sara Ross Witt hosts. Free. 21+

Two Cookie Minimum Two Year Anniversary Reading

Today the reading series Two Cookie Minimum, known for having free cookies at each reading, will celebrate its second anniversary. For the occasion readers Ben Spies (author of No More Coffee zine), Natalie Edwards, L.B. (author of Truckface zine) will read. A shadow puppet show by sisters Jill Summers and Susie Kirkwood will open the night. Hosted by Johnny Misfit at the Hungry Brain, 2319 W. Belmont, 9pm. Party hats optional.
