1893 World's Fair--2013 Style @ Hotel Burnham
It's the 120th anniversary of the World's Columbian Exposition, so head to the Atwood Cafe in the Hotel Burnham (how fitting!) tonight for a multi-course meal that reflects the food of the time, as well as a history lesson from Chicago History Museum staff (who is sponsoring the event). Tickets $85-95. Cocktails start at 5:30pm; dinner at 6pm.
Still in the Shadows?
The Chicago Reporter presents "Still in the Shadows?", a community forum on immigration, tonight from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Lincoln United Methodist Church, 2242 S. Damen Ave. Representative Luis Gutiérrez will provide an update on immigration reform legislation, and undocumented immigrants will give testimonials as to the challenges they face every day. The event is free, but RSVP is requested.
#FoodieChats 2-Year Celebration @ Rockit
#FoodieChats, the Twitter hashtag discussion group, celebrates its second anniversary with a party at Rockit Bar & Grill, 22 W. Hubbard St., tonight from 5:30 to 8:30pm.
