Wavefront Music Festival runs July 5-7 at Montrose Beach, 4400 N. Lakeshore Dr. Headliners tonight include Fatboy Slim, Seth Troxler, Dubfire, Frankie Knuckles and Jamie Principal, Dustin Sheridan, and Adonis Childs; with dozens of artists performing each day, it's easier to just point you to the schedule for the rest. Gates open at 11am, first acts go on at noon. Tickets are $80 for one-day passes ($180 for VIP access); three-day passes are $220, or $350 for VIP.
Lincoln and Belmont turns into a street fest of food, bands and a craft market today (Noon-10pm) and tomorrow (Noon-9pm).
Ribs take over the Lawrence and Broadway intersection this weekend, July 5-7 for the Windy City RibFest. Entertainment, arts and crafts for the kids, and of course, the ribs are part of the occasion. The festival is open from noon to 10pm today. Suggested admission $5.
The 33rd annual American Music Festival runs July 3-6 at FitzGerald's, 6615 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Berwyn. Tickets are $30 at the door, with a $5 discount for the first hour after doors; four-day passes are available online only for $100. Kids under 12 are $5, and are welcome until 10pm each day. Doors open today at 1pm.
