Public meetings are being held as part of a study to improve Lake Shore Drive between Hollywood Avenue and Grand Avenue. Anyone who uses the stretch of Lake Shore Drive focused on in the study is encouraged to attend this meeting at Gill Park, 825 W. Sheridan Rd., third floor from 6 to 8pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring feedback on how they use Lake Shore Drive, the Lakefront Trail or the parks and what they'd like to see.
Gapers Block presents the eclectic reading series Tuesday Funk tonight in the upstairs lounge at Hopleaf Bar, 5148 N. Clark St., featuring readings by Bradley P. The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts Performance Hall, 915 E. 60th St., presents award-winning poet Marc Bamuthi Joseph's Words Become Flesh, tonight at 7:30pm. Written and directed by Bamuthi Joseph, this hip hop theatrical performance, through a mix of dance, spoken word and music, explores gender and race in America through the eyes of a young single father.
