Veggie Bingo @ Hideout

All the cool kids will be at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia) tonight for Veggie Bingo, a summerlong series brought to you by the good folks at Soup and Bread and NeighborSpace. Play the game, enjoy a grilled hot dog donated by Hot Doug's, donate money to help sustain a local community garden, and win food-related prizes (fresh produce from Irv and Shelly's, among others). Event runs 5:30-8pm.

A League of Their Own @ Music Box Theatre

Anyone over the age of 25 probably remembers A League of Their Own -- the classic baseball movie starring Tom Hanks and Madonna that gave us the famous line, "There's no crying in baseball!" If you want to run down memory lane again or defend your millennial status, the Tribune's Michael Phillips and Steve Rosenbloom will be screening the film at Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., tonight at 7pm, with a discussion following the screening. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.

Art You Can Laugh At @ Ready Coffee

Art You Can Laugh At, a new biweekly comedy showcase, debuts tonight at 7pm in the Ornot Gallery at Ready Coffee, 1562 N. Milwaukee Ave., featuring Tyler Jackson, Conor Delehanty, Odinaka Od Ezeokoli, Reena Calm, Katie McVay and Adam Burke. Free.

Guts & Glory @ Powell's North

Samantha Irby of Bitches Gotta Eat and Keith Ecker, the producer of Essay Fiesta, return with Guts & Glory: Live Lit for the Lionhearted. This month's lineup includes: Robyn Okrant, Melinda McIntire, Bill Bullock, M Shelly Conner, and Kim Morris. Starts at 7pm at Powell's Bookstore, 2850 N. Lincoln Ave. Show is free and BYOB, with donations collected and split evenly between One Tail at a Time and 826CHI.

Story Lab @ Black Rock Pub

Story Lab stands apart from other live lit series in the city in its accessibility and unmitigated audience support for the performers at the Black Rock Pub, 3614 N. Damen Ave. This month's readers include: Marta Johnson, Ruth Kaufman, AJ Platt,Wolfgang Stein, Dan Terkall, and Melissa Wood. Hosted by Scott Whitehair of the reading series This Much is True. Diamond Jim @ Patio Theater

The Northwest Chicago Film Society presents a screening of Diamond Jim, a 1935 biopic of philanthropist "Diamond" Jim Brady, tonight at 7:30pm at the Patio Theater, 6008 W. Irving Park Rd. Tickets are $5.
