Variety reading series The Encyclopedia Show is back at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., tonight at 7:30pm. The month's theme is "floods," and readers include Cameron McGill, Kush Thompson, Robi Mahan, Kristiana Colón, Chris Bower and Rik Vasquez. This all ages show is $9, $6 for students.
The 47th annual Latke-Hamantash Debate at the University of Chicago takes place tonight at 7:30pm at Mandel Hall, 1131 E. 57th St. Dr. Ted Cohen, professor of philosophy, moderates the debate, which features Dr. Rachel Fulton Brown, associate professor of Medieval History; Dr. Harold Pollack, Helen Ross professor at the School of Social Service Administration; and Dr. Carrie Rinker-Schaeffer, director of Urologic Research. Admission to the debate is free on a first come, first served basis. A latke and hamantash tasting follows the debate; tickets are $5. The debate will also be webcast live.
Saki and Everything Is Terrible's Once in a Lifetime screening series returns to Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., tonight with a showing of the Lifetime movie She's Too Young, which will be mercilessly mocked by comedians Marlena Rodriguez and Natalie Jose. Tickets are $5. Show starts at 7:30pm. 18+
The 2nd Story presents FEAST: Stories of Together tonight at City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St. Hear stories by Andrew Reilly, Deb Lewis and Jasmin Cardenas, accompanied by the Harold Washington Trio. Tickets are $18 in advance or at the door, which opens at 6pm; show begins at 8pm.
