Write Club returns to SPACE, 1245 N. Chicago Ave. in Evanston, tonight at 7pm. Ian Belknap presides over the proceedings, as writers go head to head to win the approval of the audience while espousing opposing viewpoints. The theme this time is "super powers," and Susan Karp feels the need for Speed while Belknap fights with Strength, Natalie Edwards takes Flight while Thomas Simmons goes with Invisibility, and Chloe Johnston brings Magic while Mary Lorenz advocates for Science. It's $10 cash at the door.
Oracle Theatre presents the latest in their series of recreations of old-time radio programs, The Revenge of Radio Goggles. Actors lip-sync to vintage radio dramas, to unusual effect (the Reader calls them "eerie, robotic performances"). Tonight's performance is at 8:00pm; the show runs through December 14. Admission is free, so reservations are recommended. Full details at the Oracle Theatre Website. Oracle Theatre: 3809 N. Broadway. (773) 2244-2980.
