The Encyclopedia Show @ Stage 773

The Encyclopedia Show returns to Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., at 7:30pm tonight. This month the theme is "Marching Bands," and it's the show's fifth anniversary. Featured performers include Mucca Pazza, Nina Coomes on Dr. W. Otto Miessner, David Kodeski and Rachel Claff on North Korean Marching Bands, Fatimah Asghar and Jamila Woods on The 1738 Virginia Military Statute, Diana Lawrence on the FAMU, and a special visit from John Philip Sousa. Tickets are $9, $6 for students. 21+

South Side Story Club @ Co-Prosperity Sphere

Story Club returns to Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St., tonight for a show themed "cold." Featured readers include Jen Peepas, Jen Howe and Don Hall; Will Hindmarch hosts. Doors open at 7:30pm, show's at 8. $5 suggested donation.

Story Lab @ Black Rock Pub

Story Lab stands apart from other live lit series in the city in its accessibility and unmitigated audience support for the performers at the Black Rock Pub, 3614 N. Damen Ave. This month's readers include: Craig Fitzgerald, Eleanor Hyde, Kelley Johnson, Jillian Lohndorf, Andi Nelson, and Kelly Swails. Hosted by Scott Whitehair of the reading series This Much is True. Show starts at 7:30pm, and is free. Once in a Lifetime @ Lincoln Hall

Lincoln Hall and Everything Is Terrible! present their occasional series Once in a Lifetime, best described as an MST3K show focusing on Lifetime dramatic films. Tonight's film: the 1996 Tori Spelling jaw-dropper Co-Ed Call Girl, featuring live commentary by local comedians. The show starts at 8:00pm, it's an 18+ show, and admission is a measly $5.
