Chicago Winter Bike Swap

Got a bike to sell? Need a bike? Then it may be worth your time to drive to Harper College (1200 W. Algonquin) in Palatine for the 7th annual Chicago Winter Bike Swap. No matter the type of bike you may be interested in, or even if you're just interested in parts or any biking-related item, you're likely to find at this event. Admission is $5 but children under 12 are free, as is parking. For your car. The event is open from 9:30am to 3:30pm.

Superchunk @ Saki

Superchunk does an all-acoustic in-store performance at saki, 3716 W. Fullerton Ave., today at 3pm, before their show at the Metro tonight. Free, but space is clearly limited; first come, first served. All ages.

Mortified Nation premiere @ Gene Siskel Film Center

The teen angst reading series Mortified! comes to the big screen in this documentary featuring live performances from around the country, including Chicago. Q&A after the film with director, Mike Mayer, producers Shay DeGrandis and Neil Katcher, and co-producer Annette Ferrara of the Chicago live "Mortified" shows, who will be present for audience discussion at both screenings. Screening Friday at 8:30pm, Saturday at 3pm at the Gene Siskel Film Center (164 N. State)Tickets are $11 for general admission and can be purchased at the Gene Siskel Film Center.

Sketchfest

The 13th annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, aka Sketchfest, runs Jan. 9-19 at Stage773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Tonight's schedule includes three dozen shows on four stages, beginning at 4pm. Tickets are $14 per show (or $150 for an all-festival pass) and are available online, at the box office or by calling 773-327-5252.

Fillet of Solo Festival

Lifeline Theatre's 17th annual Fillet of Solo Festival of solo performances and storytelling runs Jan. 3-19. Performances are held at the Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave., and the Heartland Studio Theatre, 7016 N. Glenwood Ave. Tickets are $10 per show, or $30 for a festival pass, and are available online or at the Lifeline box office.

Windy City Rollers @ UIC Pavilion

The Windy City Rollers return to the UIC Pavilion, 525 S. Racine Ave., tonight. At 6pm the Manic Attackers battle The Fury, and at 7:30pm the Double Crossers take on Hell's Belles. Tickets are $20-35 online or at the box office. Doors open at 5pm.

CWA Book of the Year Awards

The Chicago Writers Association presents its third annual Book of the Year Awards tonight at 7pm at The Book Cellar, 4736 N. Lincoln Ave. The winning books of 2013 are Susan Nussbaum's Good Kings Bad Kings, Jay C. Rehak's 30 Days to Empathy, Bree Housley's We Hope You Like This Song and David W. Berner's Any Road Will Take You There. All winning authors will read selections from their books. The event will be emceed by Tori Collins, President of Chicago Writers Association. Free.

Shamekia Copeland @ SPACE

Shamekia Copeland plays Friday and tonight at SPACE, 1245 Chicago Ave. in Evanston, with the Lucky 3 Blues Band opening. Tickets are $22-42. Doors are at 7pm, show's at 8pm. The show is part of the Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival, running Jan. 10-Feb. 1.

Superchunk @ Metro

Superchunk will headline the Metro, 3730 N. Clark St. Roomrunner and Split Single are opening. Doors open at 9pm. This is a 18+ show and tickets are $21.

Soul Summit 4th Anniversary @ Double Door

The Soul Summit Dance Party celebrates its fourth anniversary tonight at the Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave. DJs Sloppy White, Dave Mata and Duke Grip spin, along with special guests DJ Akalepse and DJ E Da Boss. Doors open at 9pm. Free, 21+
