Dimo's in Bucktown and Greenbush pair up for this all-you-can eat beer and pizza Anti-Valentine's Day ticketed event. On the menu: regret and vindication.

Journalist Lynn Povich @ Kirkland & Ellis

Lynn Povich, author of The Good Girls Revolt: How the Women of Newsweek Sued Their Bosses and Changed the Workplace, appears tonight at Kirkland & Ellis (300 N. La Salle Dr., 6th floor) in a reading and discussion sponsored by Women Employed.Former Newsweek writer Jesse Ellison will join her to discuss the subtler ways in which sexism impacts women in journalism and other careers today.

The event runs from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, with time for drinks and hors d'oeuvres included. Admission is $10, or make it $25 and get a copy of the book to boot.

"For the Love of Perception" @ Hubbard Street Lofts

The Hubbard Street Lofts, 1821 W. Hubbard St., presents actor, model, and visual artist Ben Lane's "For the Love of Perception," tonight from 6pm-10pm. Artists and art lovers alike will enjoy an evening of exhibits, music, workshops, spoken word by K-Love, as well as view Lane's newest art series, Love Over Hate. Writers' Workshop with Jonathan Eig @ Lincoln Belmont Library

This evening at 6:30pm, popular-history author Jonathan Eig visits the Lincoln Belmont branch library's monthly writer's group (1659 W. Melrose St.) to present a workshop complete with handouts and writing exercises, all focused on building characters that are both compelling and realistic. After the presentation, attendees can stick around for a free-writing session. The event is free and open to all.

Final Solo in the 2nd City @ Beauty Bar

Solo in the 2nd City holds its final show tonight at Beauty Bar, 1444 W. Chicago Ave. Join hosts Melinda McIntire and Carly Oishi for a party at 7pm, followed by a reading at 8pm featuring Dana Norris, Isaac Paul, Barrie Cole, JW Reese, Jasmine Davila, Blake Dinwiddie and Charlotte Hamilton. Ryan Adams Tribute @ Uncommon Ground

Ready for romance? Hear 20 local musicians perform 40 Ryan Adams songs at Uncommon Ground, 3800 N. Clark St., with two nights of benefit concerts. On Feb. 12 or 13, you can bring your sweetie for a night (or two) of beautiful music. The show starts at 8pm, and tickets are just $10. Reservations available and encouraged! The event will include burlesque and bellydancing, a leatherwear catwalk and X-rated visual and performance art -- plus toys for sale by the Pleasure Chest and music spun by DJ License.
