Celebrate the wonder of chocolate and hazelnut spread today at Multilingual Connections (2518 W. Armitage) from 1-4pm. Treats from places like Bang Bang Pie, Black Dog Gelato, Tipsycake, and Katherine Anne Confections will be for sale, along with nutella-inspired games and other fun activities.
Story Sessions at City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St., this month features readings by Barrie Cole, Eileen Dougharty, Kate James, Andrew Marikis & Sarah Hollenbeck, Jeremy Owens (Gapers Block's own!), and Scott Smith. Dog1 and Side of Bacon open. Doors are at 5:30pm, music's at 6pm, readings are at 7pm. Tickets are $12.
Excited Utterance, a new quarterly reading series, makes its debut tonight at 7pm at Uncommon Ground, 3800 N. Clark St. Featured readers include Kyle Churne, Larry O. Dean and Sara Tracey. Free, but reservations recommended.
The Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave., hosts its fourth annual Chili Synth Cookoff at 7pm tonight, featuring music and chili by Travis Thatcher, Michael Perkins, Dania Luck and Ben Billington. $5 in advance or at the door. 21+
Chef Alan Lake and Chef Michael Karman are crafting a five-course winter dinner featuring. . . garlic! Dinner is tonight from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at Delish Diner (2018 W Division). Tickets are $70. Complete menu will be announced prior to the dinner.
