Cultural Connection African Marketplace & Bazaar

The 17th annual Cultural Connection African Marketplace and Bazaar happens Friday and today from 9am to 7pm at Dixon Elementary, 8306 S. St. Lawrence Ave. Browse more than 60 artists and vendors. Admission is free.

Spring Artisan Trunk Show

It's Spring! So shake off your winter blues and head to Blue Buddha Boutique (1127 W Granville Avenue) today from 11am to 6pm to shop for pretty things. You'll be able to find everything from art, to jewelery, to messenger bags, to candles, soaps, and more. All items are made by local artists and makers.

Chicago Beer Festival @ Union Station

The Chicago Beer Festival returns to Union Station, 210 S. Canal St., today, featuring dozens of domestic and international breweries sampling their seasonal beers. There are two sessions, 1pm to 4pm and 6pm to 9pm. Tickets are $40 in advance only -- no walk-ups -- and include a souvenir glass and 30 tasting tickets. 21+

Young Lakota @ Cultural Center

Community Cinema at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 W. Washington St., screens Young Lakota, a documentary about the reproductive rights fight on the Pine Ridge Reservation, today at 2pm in the Claudia Cassidy Theater. Admission is free.

Windy City Rollers @ UIC Pavilion

The Windy City Rollers travel teams take on St. Louis tonight at the UIC Pavilion, 525 S. Racine Ave. First bout is at 6pm; doors open at 5pm. Tickets are $20, or $35 for track-side.

Chicago Nerd Comedy Festival

The Chicago Nerd Comedy Festival runs March 19-22 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Tonight, see the interactive game Planetary Defense Force at 6pm, Pretty/Windy at 7pm, Improvised Jane Austen at 8pm, Urlakis and Cusick at 9pm, The Nerdologues at 10pm and Plan 9 Burlesque at 11pm. Welcome To Night Vale @ Athenaeum

The Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave., welcomes the live touring performance of the wildly popular podcast "Welcome to Night Vale." Tickets are on sale through the Athenaeum box office, as well as through Lincoln Hall's website. There are two all-ages shows, at 7pm and 10pm. Tickets are $25.

Salvager's Ball

The Rebuilding Exchange celebrates five years of serving Chicago with the Salvagers' Ball tonight from 7 to 10pm at the new, not-yet-open Lagunitas Brewery, 2607 W. 17th St. in Pilsen. The party will feature food from Hot Chocolate, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, Endgrain and others, beer from Lagunitas, wine from Candid Wines and live music by Low Down Brass Band and DJ Tess Kisner. Enjoy a silent auction and interactive games as well. Tickets are $65 in advance, $75 at the door. $125 VIP tickets include a 6pm punch making lesson with bartenders from Punch House, a guided tour of the new Lagunitas brewery and more. 21+

Love & Air Sex @ Facets

Facets Cinémathèque, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave., shows Love & Air Sex, an independent comedy about relationships and the Air Sex World Championships, March 21-27. Director Bryan Poyser will be in attendance for a Q&A after the 7pm screening tonight. Tickets are $9.

Good Vybes Fest @ Empty Bottle

Eye Vybe Records hosts Good Vybes Fest Friday and today at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave. Tonight's lineup features the People's Temple, Velcro Lewis Group, the Sueves, Twinkwind and Nest Egg. $10 online or at the door; two-day passes are $20. Doors are at 9pm. 21+
