The 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt starts today at 11 a.m. at Longman & Eagle (2657 N Kedzie), which is also hosting the festivity's food and music. There is a $5 donation for each team of two, which will benefit the Logan Square Boys & Girls Club. Egg hunters will receive gift baskets stuffed with goods from Fleur, Lula Cafe, Provenance, Wolfbait & B-Girls, and more.
The Music Box, 3733 N. Southport Ave., screens Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original, not the Johnny Depp remake) today at 2pm. Tickets are $12.50 for adults, $8 for kids 12 and under.
Brain Frame and the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE) team up tonight for a fundraiser at the Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St. Bid on original art by local comic artists (including Chris Ware and Nicole Hollander); hear readings by Kevin Budnik, Rachel Niffenegger, Pup House and Jen Rickert; watch live drawing by Jenna Caravello; and enjoy live music by The El Is A Sound Of Joy. Doors open at 6pm, performances begin at 7. Admission is $5-20 on a sliding scale.
Dark Matter celebrates the release of its Devil's Lettuce coffee at the Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave., tonight at 6pm with performances by the Drastics, Wild Jesus and the Devil's Lettuce, Impala Sound Champions and Jason Brammer. Doors open at 6pm. Free.
John Darnielle, aka the Mountain Goats, plays solo shows Saturday and tonight at the Old Town School of Folk Music, 4544 N. Lincoln Ave. David Morby opens. Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are $26.
