Our Public Space: Who Owns It, Who Shapes It & Who Benefits From It @ Lathrop Homes

The second day of Our Public Space brings together designer Quilian Riano and artist John Preus for a workshop engaging the site at Lathrop Homes, 2000 W. Diversey Ave. The event runs from 10am to 4pm, with a lunch break at noon. Free.

Old Town Art Fair

The 65th annual Old Town Art Fair runs from 10am to 6pm Saturday and today in the Old Town Triangle (Wisconsin Avenue on the north, Orleans Street and Lincoln Park West, Menomonee Avenue on the south, plus a little bit of North Park Avenue north of Willow -- here's a PDF map). View and purchase the work of more than 250 artists, enjoy live music and food, and maybe go on the neighborhood garden walk. $7 donation requested.

Chicago Blues Festival

Blues Fest runs June 13-15 in Grant Park. There's music from 11am to 9:30pm today on six stages Tonight's headliners in the Petrillo Music Shell are the Nikki Hill at 5:30pm, Aaron Neville at 6:45pm, and Dr. John at 8:15pm. Free.

Wax Trax Pop-up Shop @ Metro

The Metro, 3730 N. Clark St., hosts a one-day popup record store of legendary Wax Trax! Records from 11am to 4pm today to celebrate the release of the new 12" single by Cocksure. Past Wax Trax releases will also be available.

Six Corners BBQ Fest

The fourth annual Six Corners BBQ Fest is today and Sunday at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue, Cicero and Irving Park. The fest features live music, art and craft vendors, a kids corner and of course barbecue -- including the Meat on Milwaukee neighborhood cookoff -- all from noon to 9pm today. $5 donation requested at the gates.

Taste of Randolph Street

Taste of Randolph Street runs June 13-15 on Randolph Street from Peoria Street to Racine Avenue, and features food from area restaurants and lots of live music and DJs on three stages. The festival runs from noon to 10pm tonight. $10 suggested donation.

Spring Awakening

Fans of electronic music will pour into Soldier Field this weekend for 3 days of non-stop grooving. Spring Awakening features scads of DJs from international hitmakers to local Chicago favorites. After parties follow in venues around the city. Tickets available online.

Dawson City Limits @ The Dawson

The Dawson (730 W Grand Ave) is hosting a live music series, Dawson City Limits, on Sundays this summer from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. An Americana band will play on the patio while guests indulge in broiled vodka lemonade, BBQ, and crawfish. Ryan Joseph Anderson plays today, and a pig roast and bourbon root beer floats will be offered in celebration of Father's Day.

Story Sessions @ City Winery

Story Sessions returns to City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St., tonight with the theme "Day of the Dad." The lineup includes stories told by Kevin Gladish, Shannon Cason, Kelsie Huff, Linda Gorham, Alan Neff and Natasha Tsoutsouris; Deanna Moffitt hosts and there's live bluegrass before the show. Doors open at 5:30, music begins at 6pm, readings start at 7pm. Tickets are $12.

The Marrow @ Punch House

Curbside Splendor launches The Marrow, a new monthly non-fiction reading series, tonight at 7:30pm at Punch House, 1227 W. 18th St. Hosted by Leah Pickett, the first edition features readings by Samantha Irby, Nico Lang, Jeff Miller and Jen Richards. No cover, 21+.
