USA vs. Ghana Viewing Party @ Grant Park

US Soccer hosts a viewing party for the USA vs. Ghana World Cup match tonight at Arvey Field in Grant Park, 1100 S Columbus Dr. Watch the ESPN broadcast of the match on a huge screen with a hundreds of other soccer fans. Festivities begin at noon, with kick-off at 5pm. Lupe Fiasco and Futura perform as well. Free.

Richard Thompson @ Downtown Sound

Richard Thompson may be best known for his '70s/'80s output with his then-wife, which include the terrific I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight and Shoot Out the Lights albums, but his career before that with Fairport Convention and after then stand on their own, as well. The British guitar wizard will command Pritzker Pavilion, 201 E. Randolph St., for a Downtown Sound show tonight at 6:30pm; seating opens at 5:30pm. Free.

King Khan & the Shrines @ Empty Bottle

King Khan & the Shrines return after a long hiatus with a show tonight at 8:30pm at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave., with Red Mass, the Sueves and the Get Drunk DJs in support. Tickets are $15 in advance or at the door. 21+
