Celebrate Bastille Day with the Alliance Francaise tonight at Daley Plaza (50 W. Washington), 5-9pm. Waiters real and imagined will compete in a 200 meter sprint while balancing a tray full of (plastic, thankfully) glasses at 5:30pm; entertainment, food and celebrating follows there until 9pm. Free.
Cyrano's Farm Kitchen (546 N Wells) hosts a Bastille Day dinner tonight with a cabaret show, featuring Claudia Hommel and Patricia Spaeth. The three-course meal is $30 (without tax and gratuity) and includes options such as pâté and rillete plate, vichyssoise, and traditional coq au vin. The Downtown Sound free concert series at 6:30pm in the Pritzker Pavilion, 201 E. Randolph St. in Millennium Park, this week features Mauritanian singer Noura Mint Seymali, with Ted Sirota's Heavyweight Dub opening. Seating begins at 5:30pm. Free.
