Chicago's Overlooked & Forgotten Movie Theaters
Forgotten Chicago presents a discussion of Chicago's overlooked and forgotten movie theaters tonight at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave. Hosted by Ward Miller, executive director of Preservation Chicago, the evening will include a presentation by author and professor Bill Savage, as well as photos of many long-gone theaters throughout the city. Doors open at 6:30pm, presentation begins at 7pm. $5 donation at the door requested.
Story Club South Side @ Co-Prosperity Sphere
The South Side faction of Story Club is back at the Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St., tonight, with the theme "Beautiful Poison." Featured readers this round include Scott Whitehair, Steven Strafford and Lauren Sivak, along with three open mic slots for you to tell your story. Hosted by Andrew Marikis. Doors open at 7:30pm, show's at 8. $10 suggested donation, BYOB.
