Chicago Air & Water Show

The Air & Water Show runs Saturday and today from 10am to 3pm, centered on North Avenue Beach. The Blue Angels are back this year, along with a wide variety of professional and amateur aerial teams. Free.

Vintage Garage

Vintage Garage antique and collectibles market is back today from 10am to 5pm in the parking garage at 5051 N. Broadway. There's a special focus on vintage art this month, but you'll still be able to shop for vintage clothing and accessories, furniture, records and other cool stuff. Admission is $5.

Great American Lobster Fest

The Great American Lobster Fest runs today and Sunday in the Grand Ballroom on Navy Pier. Enjoy fresh seafood, drinks, carnival games and live music, including Kiss Army and Think Floyd USA. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door; you can also preorder your live lobster for $35. The festival is open from 10am to 10pm today.

Festa Italiana

Chicago Festa Italiana runs Aug. 14-17 on Taylor Street between Ashland and Racine. Enjoy music on three stages, sample (mostly) Italian foods from Little Italy restaurants and vendors, and enjoy the neighborhood festival atmosphere. You can also take a trolley tour of historic Little Italy from noon to 5pm. The fest is open from noon to 11pm today. $5 suggested donation.

Consider the Liver @ Hopleaf

Consider the Liver, a benefit for the Children's Organ Transplant Association on behalf of Jack Benjamin, happens today at Hopleaf, 4158 N. Clark St., from noon to 4pm. The show features readings and performances by Ian Belknap, BoyGirlBoyGirl, Naomi Ashley, Bilal Dardai, Chris Schoen, John Szymanski and more, plus food and drink and a silent auction. Tickets are $25. 21+

The Fat Babies @ Pleasant Home

Today from 3:30 to 6pm, the Pleasant Home Foundation will be hosting a swing dance concert with the ever-so-talented "The Fat Babies". There will be an all afternoon art show, sun tea and fruit infused water for guests. There will also be guided tours of the Pleasant Home upon request. The Pleasant Home is located at 217 Home Ave. in Oak Park. The art show is free and the concert is $25 ($20 for members).

Evil Dead trilogy @ Empty Bottle

The Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave., presents the latest in their occasional series of film screenings. Tonight's show is a doozy: all three Evil Dead films, starting at 7pm and screening through midnight! Admission is free, though you can RSVP at the Empty Bottle website.

Aloft Circus Arts Presents Dinner of Our Discontent @ Chopin Theatre

Circus and theater converge with Aloft's production, Dinner of Our Discontent at the Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division Street. Directed and conceptualized by Aloft artistic director Shayna Swanson, "Dinner" follows five estranged sisters as they return to the home they grew up in after their parents' sudden deaths. Aloft is a Chicago-based physical performance company dedicated to telling original stories through world-class circus arts. Show runs August 14-24, show times: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm. Tickets are $25 and available at Brown Paper Tickets. Supersuckers & The Beggars @ Reggies

Supersuckers and the Beggars split the bill tonight at Reggies, 2105 S. State St., with the Krank Daddies and Fitness opening. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Doors are at 7:30pm. 17+

The Marrow @ Punch House

Curbside Splendor's reading series The Marrow is at Punch House, 1227 W. 18th St., tonight at 7:30pm, featuring readings by Darryl Holliday, Tim Kinsella, Dana Norris and Karen Shimmin, plus co-hosts Naomi Huffman and Leah Pickett. Free, 21+

Leo Kottke @ City Winery

Guitar great Leo Kottke is at City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St., tonight and Monday. Tickets are $30-40. Doors open at 6pm, show's at 8pm.
