Good Ol' Freda, a documentary film about Freda Kelly, friend, secretary and muse of the Beatles, screens tonight at 8pm at City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St. Tickets are $5. Doors open at 6pm.

Video Playlist @ MoCP

Interested in video screenings and installation artwork? The Museum of Contemporary Photography is hosting an event titled, "Video Playlist" today at 6PM in the main gallery. Reading Under the Influence @ Sheffield's

Reading Under the Influence is back in the back room of Sheffield's, 3258 N. Sheffield Ave., tonight at 7pm. The theme this month is "Dude Ranch," and readers include Brian Costello, Matt Rowan, Joseph G. Peterson and Gint Aras. They each read twice, once with original work and again with published work related to the night's theme. Quick preview in Book Club. $3 cover. 21+

Via Festival

The Via Festival runs Oct. 1-4 in various locations in Chicago, most of them secret. Tonight's local kickoff show is at 8pm at Emporium Arcade Bar, 1366 N. Milwaukee Ave., and features musical performances by Anamanaguchi, Machine Girl, Seablaze and Romance, as well as visuals by A. Bill Miller of Undervolt Co. Tickets are $15, or get a festival pass for $55. 21+
