Chicago Artists Month and Links Hall to host a Creative Conversation in Chicago. This Creative Conversation, titled "Meet your Maker" is envisioned as an opportunity for local arts leaders to engage and meet face-to-face - bridging the divide between artists and arts administrators. Creative types, at any stage in their professional career, are encouraged to join us for an evening of exploration among arts-passionate people.
"Meet your Maker" is produced in the spirit of relationship and community building in the arts. Rather than a panel discussion or facilitated conversation about a particular topic, attendees 'come-as-they-are'. This smorgasbord of backgrounds, experiences and knowledge will provide a framework for interdisciplinary networking. Attendees are encouraged to break away from the comfort of the known and enter an unfamiliar space. Through informal round-table discussion "Meet your Maker" aims to foster new relationships and introduce arts professional to resources they may never have known existed!
Special guests include: • Chris Barrett, visual artist • Marie Casimir, Links Hall• Jeanelle Chang, Chicago Sinfonietta• Martin Garcia, Surmount Studio • Nikki Jolly, Chicago Park Chicago Arts District • Jessica Kaswiner, Artists Mean Business podcast • Merideth Lacina, Illinois Artisans Program, Illinois State Museum • Jenny Lam, Sixty Inches From Center • Jennifer Jansen, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago Alumni • Marivi Ortiz-Shoda, photographer • Meida Teresa McNeal, Changing Worlds • Eva Silverman, Arts Alliance Illinois
