The Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., hosts a special edition of the Moth StorySlam tonight from 6 to 10pm, in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire. The theme is "resilience," and the stories begin at 8pm. Tickets are $8, or $16 for reserved seating. 21+
James Finn Garner celebrates the release of the latest books in his Rex Koko circus noir series, Double Indignity and The Wet Nose of Danger, at the Book Cellar, 4736 N. Lincoln Ave., tonight at 7pm. The event begins with circus performers and music in Giddings Plaza across from the store, then moves inside for readings and more. Free.
We Are Scientists headline Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., tonight, with Surfer Blood and Eternal Summers opening. Tickets are $20, and doors open at 8pm. 18+
