BOO HAHA Beer Tasting at Chicago Truborn

Malört Documentary @ Chop Shop

Attend a screening of the new short documentary This Story Will Never End, about Jeppson's Malört and its resurgence, at a release party from 6 to 9pm tonight at Chop Shop, 2033 W. North Ave. In addition to the movie, there will be a Q&A with cast, crew and Team Malört; the music video premier of "A Waltz for Old Jeppson," the Malört anthem by Archie Powell & The Exports; and of course be plenty of Malört, both from the bottle and on draft. Race in the Media @ Morningstar

One of many conversations hosted across the city as part of Chicago Ideas Week takes a look at the media's role in perpetuating and disrupting racial stereotypes, featuring Johnson Publishing CEO Desiree Rogers, Columbia professor Beau Basel Beaudoin, writer LZ Granderson, and director Salim Akil. Tickets are still available for the 6pm event held at 6pm at Morningstar, 22 W. Washington St. $15.

Jordan Martins Artist Talk @ Chicago Artists Coalition

Tonight from 6-9PM, Jordan Martins will be bringing selections of his work as well as conversation to the Chicago Room & Board Showroom located on 217 N. Carpenter St. Jordan is also the program director at the Comfort Station, a creative space located in Logan Square. The event will include wine and snacks and is open to the public.

Skål @ Swedish American Museum

The Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark St., hosts Skål, a Celebration of Swedish Beer, tonight from 7 to 9pm. Certified Cicerone Jenny Pfäfflin provides a history of brewing in Sweden and leads a tasting of Swedish and other Nordic beers. There will also be snacks and museum tours. Tickets are $30 and include a souvenir tasting glass, and proceeds benefit the Water Tower Fund to restore the Andersonville Water Tower. 21+

Booze, Bars, and Bootlegging! @ Chicago History Museum

Learn more about the crimes that made this city great with the Chicago History Museum (1601 N. Clark) at tonight's (7pm) pub crawl of speakeasies and other haunts. Tickets $30-40.

Maria Bamford @ Athenaeum
