The Gene Siskel Film Center presents a week-long run of the Michael Winterbottom 2013 film The Trip to Italy, featuring the brillitan team of Rob Byrdon and Steve Coogan eating and arguing their way through a tour of Italy. The Auditorium launches its new "Made in Chicago" movie screening with a Sing-A-Long screening of Chicago and jazz-style cocktail party tonight. Dress up and enter the costume contest. Doors open at 6pm, screening is at 7pm, and admission is free.
The 17th annual Northalsted Halloween Parade -- the only Halloween costume parade where anyone can march -- is tonight on Halsted Street from Belmont to Addison. Registration begins at 6:30pm at Belmont and Halsted; the parade begins at 8pm. The theme this year is "Twisted Circus," and there are prizes for the best costumes in several categories. Or just hang out and watch!
Moonlight Studios (1446 W. Kinzie) hosts the Reader's Halloween party Moonlight Manor tonight (8pm-Midnight). Cocktails created by folks from Longman & Eagle and the Drawing Room, food from the Chop Shop, Katherine Anne Confections and El Ranchito, DJs, and frivolity. Tickets $50.
Salonathon and The Inconvenience team up tonight with the Punch House (1227 W. 18th St.) for a Halloween party complete with costumes, performances, DJs, and drinks courtesy of Lagunitas Beer and Letherbee Gin. Event begins at 7pm; tickets $22.
Vocalo hosts a "Thriller" dance party and costume contest tonight at the National Museum of Mexican Art, 1852 W. 19th St., tonight at 8pm. Jesse De La Peña, DJ Greedy and DJ Charlie spin, and there will be Goose Island beer and tamales from Lily B. The costume contest will be awarded at midnight. Admission is two for $10; $20 gets you in plus a Vocalo t-shirt. 21+
Celebrate Halloween with Redmoon Theater's annual costume party Boneshaker , which begins at 9pm tonight at Redmoon's Pilsen headquarters, 2120 S. Jefferson St. Redmoon has had some bad luck these days, but this event will surely redeem them. DJs, cocktails, food and the wondrous contraptions and theatrics that Redmoon is well known for are on the bill. Come in costume. Tickets are $100.
