Chicago Literary Hall of Fame to Induct Six Authors

Six Chicago literary figures will be inducted into the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame Saturday, Dec. 6, at Roosevelt University's Ganz Hall.

The Chicago Literary Hall of Fame honors and preserves Chicago's great literary heritage through educational programming, awards, exhibits and other special events. One of its current projects is creating a repository of detailed information about Chicago's past, present and future literary life, through such projects as the Chicago Literary Map, the Chicago Book of the Day, and the Chicago Literary Calendar.

This year's Literary Hall of Fame inductees are three poets, a legendary editor, a novelist and an author of iconic childen's books.

Chicago Italian Film Festival

The inaugural Chicago Italian Film Festival runs Nov. 21-27 at the Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave. The theme is "Italian Comedy: Then & Now." Tonight's films are Seduced and Abandoned (Sedotta e abbandonata) at 5:20pm and A Small Southern Enterprise (Una piccolo impresa meridionale) at 7:40pm. Individual tickets are $10, or $8 for members of the Italian Cultural Institute Chicago. See five films for $40.

Miss Spoken @ Gallery Cabaret

Miss Spoken, the female-centered reading series, returns to Gallery Cabaret, 2020 N. Oakley Ave., tonight at 7pm. The theme this month is "Body Hair," and the featured readers are Alyssa Sorresso, Lillia Rissman, Maya Marshall, Samantha Irby, Lisa White and Jessica DiMaio. Carly Oishi and Rosamund Lannin cohost. No cover, 21+

Twista @ Double Door

Twista tops a bill that also includes Ras Kass, Cashis Da Gerber Boy, Mint Lab Astronauts, Brewski, Ka'Ron Burgundy, G B.A.L.L., Super Fresh Bros, Triple S S.L.A.N.G, Keiph Ali and J Breezy tonight at the Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave. Tickets are $20-75. Doors open at 7:30pm, show's at 8pm. 21+

You're Being Ridiculous @ Mary's Attic

You're Being Ridiculous, the sassy, funny and fun storytelling show created by Jeremy Owens, is back tonight in Andersonville. With three shows this month, there's sure to be a date that matches your calendar. Come out tonight to hear stories on the theme "Confession" from Jim Bennett, Margaret Dunn, Dennis Frymire, Jonathan Mayo, Jeremy Owens, JH Palmer, and Stephanie Sack. Stories start at 7:30pm at Mary's Attic, 5400 N. Clark St. Tickets are $15 online or at the door. There is no better way to avoid your family.

The Warriors @ Logan Theatre

The Logan Theatre, 2646 N. Milwaukee Ave., screens cult classic The Warriors tonight at 11pm. Tickets are $7.50.
