The 606 Project is a group of artists who advocate the support of independent artists and handmade items. The Chicago Indie Artisan Holiday Market will be in full swing today and Sunday from noon to 5pm at 2042 N. Milwaukee Ave.
The Paper Machete presents The Mash, a looser format than its usual thing but still full of readings based on the week's news, today at 3pm at the High-Hat Club, 1920 W. Irving Park Rd. Free.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra presents Pixar In Concert, a performance of songs from the animation studio's beloved films, Nov. 28-30 at Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Ave. Today's show is at 3pm, and tickets are $57-165 online or through the box office at 312-294-3000.
GRIDS artist, Amanda Gutierrez, will be giving an artist talk today at Mana Contemporary in the Radius Space. The talk will begin at 3pm and is located at 2233 S. Throop St in Pilsen. Gutierrez's work focuses on performance and sound, which she fuses together in her projects and pieces. In addition, the talk will broadcast live on NUMBERS.FM at the Comfort Station in Logan Square. The event is free and open to the public.
Folk-punk band Tail Light Rebellion headline Reggies, 2105 S. State St., tonight, with Lonely Are the Brave, Mississippi Gabe Carter and Saint Christopher opening. Doors open at 7:30pm. $5. 21+
