Upcycled Holiday Card Making Workshop @ The WasteShed
The WasteShed, located at 914 N California 1F, offers repurposed art, craft, and school supplies in order to promote an affordable and sustainable environment. The Upcycled Holiday Card Making Workshop today from 6:30-9:30PM, will provide materials for holiday card making as well as a how-to for creating gift bags from maps and calendars. The workshop costs $10 and includes all materials. Kids are welcome! Registration is required.
Paint the Night @ Roscoe's
Paint the Night is the annual benefit for Stage Left Theatre, which is currently in the middle of its 33rd season of producing plays in Chicago. The benefit will have food, a silent auction, Lakeview vendors and music from Jayson Brooks of J.C. Brooks and the Uptown Sound. Awards will also be handed out to Maureen Martino of the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce and Heather Way Kitzes of the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds benefit the theater company. Tickets are $55, which includes the option of either open wine or draft bear or drink tickets for a premium cocktail or bottled beer. The event runs from 7-10 p.m. at Roscoe's, 3356 N. Halsted St. and tickets can be purchased online.
Is This a Thing? @ O'Shaughnessy's
Is This a Thing? returns to O'Shaughnessy's, 4557 N. Ravenswood Ave., tonight at 7pm. The theme for this month's reading is "the circus." Hear stories from Jill Howe, Maggie Jenkins, Scott Kanter, Kyna Lenhof, Mare Swallow and Ted Wesenberg. Ines Bellina hosts. Free.
