Chicago Bike Winter Art Show

The 18th annual Chicago Bike Winter Art Show opens tonight at Genesis Art Supply, 2525 N. Elston Ave., from 6 to 11pm. Check out the art inside and enjoy a cash bar, food trucks outside and the soothing sounds of DJ Larry Sellars. RSVP on Facebook.

The Interview Show @ Hideout

The Interview Show, hosted by Mark Bazer, returns to the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., tonight from 6:30 to 8pm for its seventh anniversary show. Guests include the Field Museum's "Brain Scoop" video series host Emily Graslie, author Eula Biss, improv duo TJ Jagadowski and David Pasquesi, and musical guest She's Crafty. Doors open at 6. Admission is $10. 21+

Mossy Cloak Opening Reception @ Roots & Culture

Curated by the collective Third Object, Roots & Culture is opening Mossy Cloak tonight at 6pm. The group exhibition will feature photography, painting, sound and sculptural work of six artists. Roots & Culture is located at 1034 N. Milwaukee Ave., and is free and open to the public.

Short Films by Shirley Clarke @ Film Studies Center

In celebration of dancing and life, Shirley Clarke (1919-1997), created short films that focused on these jovial themes. The program begins at 7pm at the Logan Center for the Arts, 915 E. 60th St and will feature the films Dance in the Sun, In Paris Parks, Bullfight, A Moment in Love, Bridges Go Round, Skyscraper, and A Scary Time. The screening is free and open to the public.

The Height Below Opening Reception @ Heaven Gallery

Heaven Gallery is featuring a two-person exhibition entitled The Height Below, with Chicago-based artists Elizabeth McCarthy and Soo Shin. Heaven Gallery is located in Wicker Park at 1550 N. Milwaukee Ave. on the 2nd floor. The opening reception begins at 7pm and will include lots of bread!


Aesop Rock @ Metro

Aesop Rock will be bringing his tremendous flow to the Metro, 3730 N. Clark St. Aesop Rock's lengthy and often incomprehensible lyricism will definitely be an experience to see. He will be joined by Rob Sonic and DJ Abilities with Homeboy Sandman opening up the night. Doors open at 8pm, tickets are $19 for the 18+ show.

John Mark Nelson @ Schubas

The incredibly talented John Mark Nelson is coming back to Schubas, 3159 N. Southport Ave., tonight at 9pm. Nelson showed his resilience the last time he was in town by taking headlining duties at the last minute and he is sure not to disappoint. Opening up the night will be singer-songwriter Liza Anne and local band The Father Costume. Tickets for are only $10 or $12 at the door, so don't skip this wonderful lineup. 21+
