2nd Floor Rear 24 Hour Art Festival

2nd Floor Rear is a 24-hour arts festival featuring apartment galleries, migrant projects, experimental spaces, and Chicago's DIY art community. The festival will take place at various locations near the Blue Line. The contributors make the festival free so check out 2nd Floor Rear's Indiegogo for support.

Cider Summit Chicago @ Navy Pier

Cider Summit Chicago returns to Navy Pier's Grand Ballroom for two sessions today, at 11am to 3pm and 4 to 8pm. Sample more than 150 ciders from around the world. Tickets are $30 and include a souvenir tasting glass and eight tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets will be available for sale onsite at $2 per ticket. Designated driver tickets are available for $5. 21+

HIJINKSfest 12-Hour Sketch Comedy Festival @ iO Theater

So, you say you like comedy? Well, put your money where your mouth is and strap in for HIJINKSfest, twelve solid hours of comedy with the experimental sketch group HIJINKS as they celebrate their move to iO Theater. The group will be performing twelve different one-hour shows ranging from a live podcast recording to sci-fi to a boxing match and beyond. The fest runs from noon until midnight, and attendees can come and go at their leisure. Tickets for all twelve hours can be purchased ahead of time for $15, or $20 day-of, with a limited number of VIP tickets going for $25. iO Theater is located at 1501 N Kingsbury St.

Hairy Who & The Chicago Imagists @ the Chicago Cultural Center

Pentimenti Productions and the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events present a free screening of the film Hairy Who & The Chicago Imagists, followed by a special panel discussion with Chris Ware, Karl Wirsum, Dan Nadel, and Robert Cozzolino on comics and humor in art. The screening will start at 3pm, with the panel discussion beginning at 5pm, in the Claudia Cassidy Theater at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St., 2nd Floor North.
