The Tribune presents political strategist and former Obama advisor David Axelrod in conversation with Trib editorial board member Clarence Page about his new book, Believer: My Forty Years in Politics, tonight from 7 to 9pm at Venue Six10, 610 S. Michigan Ave. Tickets are $20.

Tuesday Funk @ Hopleaf

The 79th edition of Tuesday Funk, Chicago's eclectic monthly reading series sponsored by Gapers Block, is tonight in the upstairs lounge at Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St. Featured readers will be Keidra Chaney, Mare Swallow, Genevieve Waller, Danielle Susi and Tom Underberg. Should I Worry About This? Podcast co-host Eden Robins and Gapers Block editor Andrew Huff co-host. Doors open at 7pm sharp -- no earlier, unfortunately, but get there as close to 7 as possible to grab a table, as the room fills up quickly -- and the show begins at 7:30. Moon Duo (record release) / Verma / Richard Vain @ Empty Bottle

Moon Duo are back in town to celebrate the release of their latest platter for Sacred Bones, Shadow of the Sun, at the Empty Bottle. Local kraut-jammers Verma support, with Richard Vain (of Bare Mutants) setting the tone. Doors at 9:00, tickets are $10. 21+.

The Joan of Arc Gang's Residency @ Hideout

The members of the amazing Chicago band Joan of Arc will have a month long residency at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave. Every Tuesday evening in March you will get a chance to see the band and a few guests including some DJs, short films by Todd Mattei, and readings presented by Featherproof Books. The residency kicks off with Nate Kinsella's band Birthmark and Melina Ausikaitis performing as well. These 21+ shows start at 9pm. Tickets are $10 or you can go to all five for $40.
