Wizard World Fan Fest

Wizard World Fan Fest comes to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Rd. in Rosemont, today and Sunday. Meet celebrities including Norman Reedus from "The Walking Dead," Karen Gillan from "Doctor Who," Kathy Najimy from "King of the Hill," Taryn Manning from "Orange Is the New Black," David Faustino from "Married With Children" and more. The show is open from 11am to 5pm today. Tickets are $15 per day or $25 for both days (autographs and photo opps extra); two-day VIP admisson is $99.

Here, Chicago @ Theater Wit

Here, Chicago, the reading and potluck dinner, returns to Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave., tonight at 7:30pm. Featured readers this month include Julie Dennison, Michael Powell, Rachael Mason and Bill Hillmann, and there will be five open mic slots. Daisies @ Doc Films

University of Chicago's Doc Films, 1212 E. 59th St., presents a screening of the 1966 Czech film Daisies tonight at 7pm as part of the series "Film as a Subversive Art: Amos Vogel and Cinema 16." Steve Vogel, son of Amos Vogel and professor of philosophy at Denison University, presents the film. Tickets are $5, or get a quarterly pass for $30.

Serving the Sentence @ Towbar

Serving the Sentence returns to Towbar, 1500 W. Jarvis Ave., tonight at 7pm. Alexandra Tsarpalas, Melinda McIntire, Debbi Welch, Carrie MacDonald and Erin Lane will start their stories with the sentence, "The last time this happened I swore, 'Never again;' but here we are." Maggie Tempkins hosts. Free.

Talib Kweli @ Metro

Talib Kweli headlines the Metro, 3730 N. Clark St., tonight, with Immortal Technique, Niko Is, CF and Hasan Salaam opening. Doors open at 8pm, show's at 9pm. Tickets are $25 in advance, $27 at the door. 18+
