The MCA is featuring video-based artist Keren Cytter, in a solo exhibition that opens today and closes Oct. 4. The MCA is located at 220 E. Chicago Ave. Additionally, Cytter will be giving a talk today at 3pm. Admission is $12 for adults, $7 for students and seniors, free to members and children 12 and under.
Join the organizers (and some participating chefs) of Apr. 17-18's Baconfest for an afternoon at the Greater Chicago Food Depository (4100 West Ann Lurie Place) to benefit those in need (and possibly win a big prize). Young Chicago Authors holds the team finals for its annual Louder than a Bomb youth poetry festival tonight at the Arie Crown Theater, 2301 S. Lake Shore Dr., tonight at 6pm. Brew and View at The Vic will be presenting the only screenings of Salad Days: A Decade of Punk in Washington, DC (1980-90) in the Chicago area tonight and tomorrow at 7:30pm. The documentary directed by Scott Crawford explores the DIY hardcore punk scene that went on to influence countless musicians. Read our preview in Transmission.
