Trade Plants for Poems @ The University of Chicago's Logan Center for the Arts

Cream Co.'s ongoing project, General Economy, Exquisite Exchange (G.E.E.E.) will be located in the Logan Center's courtyard from today, May 26th until May 27th from noon until dusk. The courtyard is located on the U of C campus at 915 E 60th St. 2000 seedlings of fourteen variations of tomato's will be available for trading: for a word, a poem, or for free.


Kori Newkirk Artist Talk @ Logan Center for the Arts

From 6:30pm-8pm, Kori Newkirk will be giving an artist talk at the Logan Center for the Arts in Hyde Park. Newkirk creates paintings, multimedia work, installations, sculptures, and photographs that focus on cultural identity and his personal history. The Logan Center is located at 915 E 60th St. The talk is free and open to the public.

The Moth StorySLAM @ Martyrs'

Martyrs' hosts the monthly Moth StorySLAM. Attendees are invited to relate their 5-minute story on a chosen theme, and the winners (as judged by the audience) advance to the semifinals. Show starts at 8:00pm and admission is $8. Martyrs': 3855 N. Lincoln. (773) 404-9494.

The 2nd Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival

The Onion and The AV Club present the second year of their 26th Annual Comedy Festival, featuring performances by at least one or two funny people and screenings of some funny films (Cabin Boy tonight, UHF on the 27th). Check the festival site for a schedule and ticket purchase links.
