Pilsen Food Truck Social
The Pilsen Food Truck Social brings together 25 of the city's food trucks for an outdoor festival on 19th Street between Racine and Throop, in front of Thalia Hall, from 11am to 10pm Saturday and today. There'll be lots of food, live music and other fun stuff. Purchase a $20 sampler ticket and you'll get five $4 tickets redeemable for sample size portions at the food trucks or drinks. $5 donation requested at the gate to support the Illinois Food Truck Owners Association and Saint Procopius Church food bank and soup kitchen.
Here, Chicago Story Show & Potluck @ Theater Wit
Here, Chicago is a show designed to bring Chicagoans of all walks of life together to find some common ground and share some good grub. The event will begin with a potluck dinner at 7:30 pm. There will then be a performance at 8pm featuring true stories from some major Chicago influencers, including former Obama Campaign Specialist Ashwin Chugh, Educator and Violence Prevention Expert Karli Johnson, Moth Grand Slam Winner Lily Be, and Variety Show Producer Danny Black.There will also be five open-mic spots that anyone can use to share a story. Admission to the event is $9, or $1 if you bring a dish to share. The Theater Wit is located at 1229 W. Belmont.
