Pilsen's Fiesta del Sol, the largest Latino culture festival in the Midwest, runs July 30 to Aug. 2 on Cermak Roadd from Morgan to Loomis. The festival features live music on two stages, an arts and culture pavilion, kids' area, a soccer tournament, food vendors, carnival rides and more. Admission is free; buy a "megapass" for unlimited carnival rides. The festival runs from 11am to 11pm today.

The Center for Lost Arts, a pop-up workshop and design studio, ends its month-long stay at 440 N. Morgan St. with a closing party tonight starting at 7pm. Check out the space, learn about the neat things have have been created there, and mingle with the designers and makers. Free.

A very loose adaptation of Chekhov's The Seagull, Stupid Fucking Bird is sure to delight with its comedic twists on a classic tale. Written by Aaron Posner and performed by Sideshow Theatre, the tale centers around two generations of Russians living on a country estate and a whole lot of bird-based metaphors. Through this piece, Sideshow Theater explores what motivates us to make art and love in this hilarious re-staging, and is surely not to be missed. Tickets range from $33-$49. To promote the reissue of their 2006 album Mercy, local post-hardcore outfit Planes Mistaken for Stars will be playing Fizz Bar & Grill, 3220 N. Lincoln Ave., tonight. The show is set to go on at 8pm and tickets are $10. 21+
